Francisca was the last of my grandmother's sisters. She never married or had children so her family was us. I started this project two years before her death (21-05-2008) with no other intention than to document the final stage of life, without knowing how or when it would end. I spent with her hours talking about war, about her memories and how much things have changed during her lifetime. Shared her loneliness and her concerns which death, she said, was not in them.

She was active until a few months before her death, apparently a tumor was growing inside her. She was 93 years old when she died. R.I.P.

Pictures were taken between 2006 and 2008
